Heart Full of Joy

What is joy to you? I feel it when my boyfriend makes me laugh until I cry, when I listen to my youngest son play fiddle or when I watch a video of my oldest son landing the plane he is learning to fly and feel his exhilaration.

I collaged so many flowers on to this heart that my hand ached!  I wasn't sure where it was going when I started, so the background is an acrylic abstract.  The dragonflies and butterflies are 3-D and made with molding paste and covered with papers I made with a Gelli plate. Their bodies are made from vintage sheet music.

This piece is 12" x 12" unframed, and 14" x 14" framed.  There is no glass in the frame due to the 3-D elements.
