I Dance with my Fears

My son went to the YMCA Blue Ridge Leadership school in Black Mountain, N.C., and came home with a T-shirt that read, "I Dance with my Fears."  I thought, "Hmmmm," and so a new piece of artwork was born.

This started with layers of ephemera (random papers) and multiple layers of acrylic and stenciled art.  The top layer is gold acrylic.  

The words, "I Dance," were done in Photoshop.  Note that the background of the letter is colored music notes.

The words, "with my fears," were stamped onto papers I made using a gelli plate.  (See my blog for details.)

It is 6"x12"x7/8" on birchwood cradleboard.
